Meet the Students: Maricela Arce

Hi there! I am a Senior majoring in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences Option. I have always believed that in order to gain full knowledge about what is encompassed in an environmental career, field work is extremely important and necessary so that one can explore the various options available within a particular environmental discipline. For this reason, I am a HUGE FAN of study abroad programs, since they offer great practical opportunities while being an educational experience! As far as this program, I already have a prior engagement, so even though I am enrolled in the class, I will be unable to participate in the trip. :( However, I do hope to be kept up-to-date by the blog and journal entries …so that maybe one day I can re-create the trip the best way I can, as I am *definitely* considering visiting Puerto Rico for my own independent study! ;)

¡Hola! Soy una estudiante en el programa de Recursos Naturales y Ciencias Ambientales, Opción de Ciencias Biologicas, y estoy en el último año de mis estudios universitarios. Cuando se trata de la carrera ambiental, siempre he creido que para obtener un conocimiento completo de lo que incorpora y se puedan explorar las varias opciones disponibles, el tener experiencia trabajando en el campo es extremadamente importante y necesario. Por tal motivo, soy una GRAN FANATICA de programas de estudios al extranjero porque ¡ofrecen oportunidades practicas y al mismo tiempo son experiencias educativas! Desafortunadamente ya tengo un compromise previo, asi que no tendre la oportunidad de participar en este viaje. :( Sin embargo, espero estar al tanto de todo lo que pasé a travez del diario electrónico…para que quizas algún dia, yo pueda recrear el viaje de la mejor manera possible; al fin que definitivamente estoy considerando visitar a Puerto Rico para conducir mis propios estudios independientes! ;)
